Grape Saffron jam
It is a useful combination of herbs for strength to digestive system. The herbs strengthen the intestines. This contains Grapes as a base and other digestive herbs like cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, cloves and saffron. This jam is known as "Draksha-Avaleha" in Sanskrit.. Draksha-Avaleha- an excellent digestive system toner
In Sanskrit Jam is either called "Chyavanprash" or "Avaleha". The Sanskrit term for Grape-Saffron Jam is Draksha avaleha. Draksha is the sanskrit name for Grapes.
As you all know, Chyavanprash is a very famous formulation in Ayurveda to keep the diseases away and to improve immunity. The formulations like Chyavanprash are made up of "Amla" as a base. The amla fruit is made into a thick paste and the other herbs are mixed into it. The sugar is added for taste, as the herbs are bitter. Similarly Grape-Saffron jam is a mixture of herbs but Grape fruit is the base in this "Chyavanprash ( Jam) instead of Amla. Regular Chyavanprash is good for immunity as Amla is rich in natural vitamin C whereas Grape-Saffron Jam is specific for providing strength to the digestive system.
Uses of Draksha-Avaleha:
It's useful for acidity, indigestion, ulcers, anemia, jaundice, IBS. According to Ayurveda, weak digestive system is also considered as a root cause of all diseases, especially constipation. Grape-Saffron jam not only provides strength to the intestines for digestion but also helps in eliminating the sticky debris from within the intestines. It scrapes the intestines like a smooth broom to clean them slowly and steadily as well as litting up the digestive fire.
